About Shop By Agent

AI assistants have started to shop for people. Shop By Agent is a plain directory of those shopping agents and of the tools that get a store ready for them.

ChatGPT surfaces products from merchant feeds and runs retailer apps (its standalone Instant Checkout ended in March 2026), Google has agentic checkout in AI Mode and Gemini, Microsoft has Copilot Checkout, and Shopify is switching its merchants on through Agentic Storefronts. Behind them sit new protocols, payment rails and analytics tools. The directory is written for Shopify and ecommerce operators, and for the people building for them.

What gets listed

• Tools (24 today): shopping agents, merchant tools, payments and protocols, and AI visibility platforms. Each has a page with a description and a link to its official site.
• Tracker (30 entries): shops and tools that a public source names as selling through an AI agent, each with that source. See the tracker.

How it is kept honest

Every listing links to an official page or a public source. Nothing is listed from rumour. A daily job proposes candidates from public news, and a person checks each one before it goes live.

Sponsors
